Adam Roslin is the main protagonist of Everspace and Everspace 2. As part of the events of Everspace, the original Adam started a process on one or several Colonial facilities creating endless copied clones of himself, although with fractured memories and shortened lifespans. The player-controlled clone in Everspace was simply known as 'Hero'. After the death of Admiral Gorc, 'Hero' and these clones had full memories and lifespans and began spreading throughout Cluster 34, assuming their original's name or a similar one as their own. However, in the events leading up to Everspace 2, all but two of these clones were hunted down and killed by Colonial forces, including Commissioner Hawke. One is a cruel elite pilot working under Oskar Blakemore, and the other is the player-controlled character working as a wingman at the start of the story. <br clear="all"> <div class="GameTabsContainer"> <tabber> |-|Clone - Everspace 2= <div class="GameTabsES2"><div class="mobileonly"> ==Clone - Everspace 2== </div> Adam Roslin, the clone previously known as Hero, is the protagonist and player character in Everspace 2. ===Plot Summary === After escaping from the lab, he started working for Grady & Brunt as a wingman (going by his progenitor's name Adam Roslin) to earn a ticket outside of the DMZ. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. He was captured by an Outlaw chief named Bolton during a mission, and is once again hunted by Colonial forces when said chief broadcasts his Roslin DNA in an attempt to fetch a ransom payment for his release. The Clone meets several new friends and companions that help him out: Ben (his engineer friend from G&B), Dax (a once fellow captive of Chief Bolton), and Delia (a G&B doctor found in a cryopod). The Clone also reunites with Elek and Tareen, whom he had met previously (in Everspace). === Other clones === By the time the events of Everspace 2 begin, all of the Roslin cloning facilities have been destroyed and all but two clones terminated by Colonial forces. While the player Clone had been staying under the Colonials' radar (until his capture by Bloodstar) via keeping a low profile in the Ceto System, the other clone, sometimes referred to as Mr. Roslin, has acquired a degree of immunity from Colonial influence by becoming the ruthless commander of G&B's Elite Squad as well as the right-hand man of Director Oskar Blakemore. Adam also re-acquires HIVE from the wrecked ship of a previous version of himself at the Ceto Ghost Fleet. <!-- TODO: Link to the quest where you meet each person so people can easily find it (should they wish to do so) And add events that happen later on: The reveal of Dax's plan, meeting Maddocks and Kato, etc. Also add new character infobox --> === Perks === As the player levels up, new perks will be unlocked. One perk can be chosen and activated for each tier, with a wide variety of effects. All the available perks are listed below. Hero perks </div> |-|Clone - Everspace= <div class="GameTabsES1"><div class="mobileonly"> ==Clone - Everspace == </div> Hero, the Clone, or Adam is the protagonist and playable character in Everspace. As the name implies, he is a clone of Adam Roslin - but unlike normal Colonial clone pilots, he also has Roslin's memories alongside the typical transference of piloting and combat skills from AETERNA. === Plot Summary === The Clone slowly regained his original's memories throughout the events of Everspace. He started with an unknown mission and a set of coordinates (given to HIVE, the ship's on-board AI). New memories are shown in flashbacks (somewhat like dreams) before jumping into a new sector that the player hasn't reached before - alongside narration by the Clone - and other information is revealed in encounters with Seth Nobu and Denara Roslin. After finally reaching his final destination, he met his original and discovered that in order to have a full lifespan, he needed to kill other clones for DNA fragments to repair the cloning facility's faulty base genome. This took long enough for Colonial Fleet Admiral Gorc to find the secret lab (and the Clone) right after successfully repairing his DNA. Because of Adam's and the clones' knowledge of his plans to start another war with the Okkar, he was determined to destroy everything, ending the process and keeping his secret plans safe. After defeating Admiral Gorc, the Clone (and others, though there was seemingly no contact between them) was finally free for the moment. === Other clones === The playable Clone is not the only one in the universe. As a result of the cloning procedure Adam Roslin set in motion, there are many of them wandering the universe after the end of the events of Everspace. They also have full lifespans *thanks to the efforts of the Clone repairing all of the DNA fragments). However, before all the DNA fragments were repaired it seems that some clones had different errors in DNA, as he had to kill other clones in order to get corrected fragments. Upon reaching the end of the Demilitarized Zone and defeating Admiral Gorc, the clones scattered to different places - each one choosing to jump to nearby inhabited planets, stations, or research labs. </div> <!-- Everything below this comment is about the human original! --> |-| Adam Roslin (Original)= <div class="GameTabsES1"><div class="mobileonly"> == Adam Roslin (Original) == </div> Adam Roslin was a Colonial cloning scientist, and is the original form of the playable Clone in both games. ===Plot Summary=== Adam Roslin was honorably discharged from the fleet after the Colonial-Okkar war. After that, Seth Nobu persuaded him to join in an illegal partnership to create more clones. They were eventually discovered by Admiral Gorc, who forced them to decode the Okkar genome in return for amnesty, enacted to enable the Admiral to start cloning Okkar and start a new war to eradicate the species. Adam refused while Seth accepted, and was poisoned with a cytotoxin. Gorc forced him to continue working if he wanted the cure. However, he knew of a way out - his secret lab, used during the war. Upon realizing that the facility was unusable, he activated another cloning facility to get a new body free of the cytotoxin, leading to the events of the game as the player controls one of these Clones in order to enact Adam's final plan. After activating the cloning system, he enters cryosleep to delay the effects of the cytotoxin. When the first Clone reached the lab, he awoke from Cryosleep and realized it wasn't a simple body replacement, but rather an individual. After realizing this, Adam tells him that the cloning process is unstable, directing him to gather DNA Fragments in order to stabilize the genome and continue living on. Adam allows the cytotoxin to kill him, while the Clone continues his quest - this time, with a new objective. ===In the Codex=== ===Gallery=== <gallery mode="packed" style="text-align:left"> File:Radio_Clone.png |Clone radio icon File:Everspace-AdamRoslin-Flashback-Cryosleep.png |The original in cryosleep File:Everspace-AdamRoslin-Hero.png |The original and the Clone talking File:Flashback-CloneFactory.png |The Clone's origin: A downed Colonial carrier with a built-in cloning facility </gallery> </div> </tabber> </div> == Trivia == *Before meeting Dax, the player Clone didn't know what kayaking or juggling were.
