The Annihilator Virus is a warfare device. When activated within 400m of a locked target by default, it infects that target with a virus that spreads to nearby targets at intervals of 1.4s or smaller, up to a maximum of 6 targets, with a 60s or shorter cooldown. After 8s, all affected ships take a large amount of kinetic and energy damage based on the player's level.

Stat Scaling[ | ]

Several of Annihilator Virus's stats, including its spread interval and damage, scale with device level as follows (level 6 is obtainable only via Stinger's Device Master special):

Device Level 1 2 3 4 5 6
Base Kinetic Damage

@ Player Level 1*

~121.3 ~123.8 ~126.4 ~130.2 ~132.8 ~136.6
Base Energy Damage

@ Player Level 1*

~76.6 ~77.9 ~80.4 ~83.0 ~84.3 ~86.8
Spread Interval 1.4s 1.3s 1.2s 1.1s 1.0s 0.9s
Activation Range 400m 420m 440m 460m 480m 500m
Base Cooldown 60s 57s 54s 51s 49s 46s

*After device level-based scaling is applied, kinetic and energy damage values of this warfare device are scaled up by a factor of 1.13 ^ (player level - 1), then modified further by the Utility attribute's device damage bonuses and rounded to the nearest whole number in order to produce the final kinetic and energy damage values shown in-game.

Modes[ | ]

Using device upgrade tokens to purchase 4 device levels on Annihilator Virus masters the device, unlocking three additional device modes which may be cycled through at any time.

  • Symptomatic: Infected targets deal 50% reduced damage.
  • Comorbidity: Deals 20% bonus damage for each additional debuff on the target.
  • R-Naught: Increases the maximum number of targets by 2.

Obtaining[ | ]

  • Charybdis Bowl - found in a large wreck between a race gate and where the jump suppressor is found during Spares and Scrap. It contains a U-shaped hallway with two generators on either side of the U with a door in the center of the bottom. Destroy the generators to get access to the device within a bulletproof container.
  • Siren's Sea - found in a bulletproof container in an abandoned structure on a large asteroid
  • Noah Damaris Starport - offered at G&B Union Branch for 2600 credits.
  • Volta Nebula - found in a shipwreck within a larger wreckage guarded by a corrosion minefield.

Tips and tricks[ | ]

  • The Symptomatic mode can be used defensively to reduce the threat posed by incoming enemies for a short time, which can be especially helpful while in an Ancient Rift with a high Lunacy modifier active.
