Catalysts in Everspace 2 are enhancements which increase the effectiveness of weapons or modules and some may add their effects in the form of a prefix.

Catalysts can be crafted and installed from the Crafting Menu (U) after unlocking the respective blueprints.

Overview[]

  • Completing a High-risk Area awards one blueprint of matching rarity or lower. HRAs are the primary source of catalyst blueprints, but may also be acquired by completing the repeatable events in the Titans DLC content.
A High-risk Area spawned using a Superior signal decoder may reward a superior, rare, or uncommon catalyst blueprint, while an Uncommon HRA can only give uncommon or common catalyst blueprint.
  • Items may only use one prefix catalyst at a time. Installing a prefix catalyst will replace any pre-existing prefix catalyst and it's effects. However, items with a naturally generated prefix can be installed with a non-prefixed catalyst, maintaining the effects of the existing prefix.
  • The added prefix will be the same as the name of the catalyst adding it. All prefixes that can be added via catalyst can also generate naturally.
  • Catalysts may occasionally be rewarded after specific encounters, such as Stranded Pilots. Renown level 3 awards a Powerful catalyst.
  • The credit value of an item is increased by 5% with a catalyst installed.

Mining Uncommon No Primary Weapons Adds bonus attributes to a weapon, increasing mining quality, quantity, and refunding energy costs when mining.
  • Gain 1 additional higher rarity resource when finishing a resource node.
  • Gain 3 additional resources when finishing a resource node.
  • Refund 100% weapon energy when mining.
Restore Protocol Uncommon No Shields If your shield is hit but remains above 70%, it immediately starts regenerating.

EMP Charges Rare No Primary Weapons Shots cause EMP disruptions. When a target has 8 disruption charges, an EMP is triggered, which paralyzes the target for 1.0s.
Homing Rare No Scatter Gun / Blaster Grants light homing to scatter gun and blaster weapon projectiles
Auto-Collector Rare No Cargo Unit Resource nodes within 800m will be automatically collected over a short time. Only for cargo unit.
Auto-Dismantler - Uncommon Rare No Cargo Unit Collected weapons and modules up to uncommon rarity are dismantled and provide 200 credits. Only for cargo unit.
Overpenetration Rare No Primary Weapons Adds 100% shield and armor piercing, but target hull cannot be damaged beyond 1%.
Attribute Amplification Rare No Modules Increases a module's attribute bonuses by 20%.
Optimized Superior Yes Modules Sets all attribute modifiers to their maximum values
Rapid Superior Yes Weapons +15% fire rate
Barrage Superior No Primary Weapons Increases damage by 3% for each second firing to a maximum of 30%
Evolution Superior No Weapons After 100 kills, increases damage by 10%.
After 300 kills, increases damage by an additional 10%.
After 1000 kills, gain an additional bonus attribute.
Auto-Dismantler - Rare Superior No Cargo Unit Collected weapons and modules up to rare rarity are dismantled and provide 300 credits. Only for cargo unit.
Shield Strike Superior No Primary Weapons Firing weapons will drain your ship's shield but increase your weapon's energy and kinetic damage by 40%.
Solo Superior No Primary Weapons Increases the weapon's kinetic and energy damage and fire rate by 35% so long as it is the only installed primary weapon.
Flawless Legendary No Any Radiant Legendary Sets all randomized attributes to their maximum value.
  • Only compatible with radiant legendaries.
  • Does not affect Modifiers, only the legendary's special trait/ability randomized stats.
Peripheral Legendary No Any Allows this legendary to be equipped despite the limit being reached. Can only extend the limit once.
Chaos Legendary No Any Randomly shuffles ALL attributes and stats of the item, for better or worse.
  • Stats are rerolled to 80-120% of their original value.
Sovereign Legendary No Legendary Weapons Gains +2 item levels, reduced by 0.5 per active set bonus.
