== Overview ==
*[[High-risk Areas]] are the sole source of catalyst blueprints. Completing an HRA (defeating the boss) awards one, matching the HRA's rarity or lower.
**For example, a High-risk Area created with a {{Superior|Superior}} signal decoder can give a superior, rare, or uncommon catalyst blueprint, while an {{Uncommon|Uncommon}} HRA can only give uncommon or common catalyst blueprint.
**Catalyst items (not the blueprints) can be found as a loot reward from specific encounters, such as [[Stranded Pilots]]. [[Renown]] level 3 gives a {{Rare|Powerful}} catalyst.

*Items can only have one [[prefix]] and/or one catalyst at a time. Installing a prefix catalyst will override any pre-existing prefix and catalyst. However, items that naturally generated with a prefix can be installed with a non-prefix catalyst, without removing the existing prefix.

*Only legendary rarity catalysts can be installed on [[Legendary items]].

*The added prefix will be the same as the name of the catalyst adding it. All prefixes that can be added via catalyst can also generate naturally.

*The [[credit]] value of items is increased by 5% with a catalyst installed.
