The Corrosion Injector is a warfare device. When activated within 600m of a locked target by default, it afflicts that target with corrosion, dealing shield-bypassing kinetic damage over time based on the player's level for at least 7.0s with a 26s or shorter cooldown.
Stat Scaling[ | ]
Several of Corrosion Injector's stats, including its kinetic damage per second (DPS) and corrosion effect duration, scale with device level as follows (level 6 is obtainable only via Stinger's Device Master special):

*After device level-based scaling is applied, kinetic DPS of this warfare device is scaled up by a factor of 1.13 ^ (player level - 1), then modified further by the Utility attribute's device kinetic damage bonus and rounded to the nearest whole number in order to produce the final kinetic DPS shown in-game.
Modes[ | ]
Using device upgrade tokens to purchase 4 device levels on Corrosion Injector masters the device, unlocking three additional device modes which may be cycled through at any time on the Ship screen.
- Searing Demise: Increases the damage by 80% but reduces the duration by 50%.
- Mercy Kill: Resets the cooldown if the target dies during the effect.
- Caustic Trauma: Instantly deals all the remaining damage if the target takes collision damage.

- Multiple locations - Offered at the Flying Dutchess for 3100 credits.

- Ceto Transit Gate - found in a bulletproof container behind a door locked by two empty generators.
Notes[ | ]
- The Mercy Kill mode provides a reliable way to maintain uptime on device-triggered effects such as Play It Safe's damage nullification and Stinger's third primary weapon hardpoint.
- This devices effectiveness is greatly increased by several items and effects:
- legendary sensor Visions of Decay: "Corrosion Injector deals 100% increased damage and will hit 3 additional enemies within 300m around the target."
- Mercy Kill will only trigger with on the initial enemy targeted, not all three.
- Multiple corrosion stacks can be more easily applied using Visions of Decay combined with Mercy Kill.
- Blightmonger Set:
- 2/4 set bonus: Enemies take 20% increased corrosion damage
- 3/4 set bonus: Each stack of corrosion on an enemy grants you 1% armor regeneration per second
- 4/4 set bonus: Targets affected by corrosion take 50% increased damage from your secondary weapons
- Deteriorator: Critical hits apply their damage as Corrosion for 2s
- Universal module modifiers: "5% increased corrosion damage" and "10% increased corrosion duration"
- Stinger passive: 25% increased corrosion damage. [Exclusive]

- A hostile elements can apply corrosion:
- Outlaw Viper
- Random corrosion mines and clouds in various locations
- Hostile corrosion effects can be mitigated with:
- Hazard Shield: Grants immunity to Corrosion while shield is up.
- Sentinel passive: While shields are at least 50% charged, gain corrosion immunity. [Exclusive]
