Counter Measures

Counter Measures is a main mission in Everspace 2.

Adam leads a coordinated assault against Oskar Blakemore’s fleet, recruiting allies and disabling enemy defenses to bring down the powerful adversary once and for all.

Objectives & Walkthrough[]

Visit Nephtys Plains Station (Nephtys Plains)
Visit Kato Palace (Prescott Starbase)
1. At this point, a manual save is recommended (soft "point of no return")
Go to Vesna Mining Colony
- Defeat the Elite Squad (in Vesna Mining Colony Orbit)
- Take out the targets (21)
  1. The hostile mining lasers can be more easily destroyed by shooting two nodes on either side of their base, and pulling out the revealed energy core(s).
- Reach the waypoint [0:45]
  1. The mission will fail if you do not reach the waypoint within 45 seconds to help Officer Shaw (but there is a checkpoint save at the start of the timer, so minimal progress is lost)
- Take out the targets (12)
- Disable the turret's power supply (5)
  - Hack/disable the highlighted terminals
    1. Stay behind/under cover while the turret's laser is firing, otherwise it will deal high damage while in the beam.
- Defeat Oskar Blakemore
  1. Destroy the marked/highlighted Hardpoints to disable his shield, then destroy his armor to proceed to the next phase. Blakemore will detach a ship from the Tetra-miner for the second phase. At low hull hp, he will return to the miner for a third phase.
  2. Grab the barrel bombs he fires and throw them below Blakemore to disable the impenetrable (purple) shield. They do not explode while held in the tractor beam. Repeat and reduce Blakemore's armor and hull to zero to win the fight. Occasinally Blakemore will walk over his own bombs, which still disables his shield.

With Blakemore's carrier damaged and his fleet having suffered severe losses, now is the right time to strike back and put a stop to Blakemore's plans once and for all. We could need all the help we can get.

Recruited Shaw:[]

I enlisted the help of Officer Shaw and Marie de Windt. Elek told me that the Coalition is also going to help and I'm confident to have convinced Kato, too. Pango is going to aid remotely. We will now all meet above Vesna.

Completed:[]

We've won the fight and Blakemore is history. It is too early to celebrate, though, as Roslin already went for the comet piloting Commissioner Hawke's cruiser. Ben just used Roslin's deserted ship to open a wormhole that will take us close to the comet. Let's hope we're not too late!
