The Missile Defense System is an active device in Everspace that destroys nearby enemy missiles while activated. It has three variants, with the Missile Defense System Mk2 and Missile Defense System Mk3 being upgraded versions of the base Missile Defense System.

- It does not destroy mines.
- Anti-Missile Drones are an effective alternative, especially on the Colonial Gunship with its drone-specific Perks.
