The Missile Defense System is a support device. It destroys all incoming missiles in a 300m or larger radius around the user's ship for at least 20.0s with a 33s or shorter cooldown.
The direct effect is an instant single-target energy beam that fires constantly at approximately 4 shots per second at the intended targets.

Modes[]
Upgrading the Missile Defense System four times with device upgrade tokens masters the device, unlocking three additional modes that can be switched at any time, except while it's on cooldown.
- Retention: Missiles have a 40% chance to be added to the secondary ammo rather than being destroyed.
- Sustenance: Every destroyed missile increases the remaining duration by 1.0s.
- Minesweeper: Will also attack mines.

- Alcyone Station - found in bulletproof container in derelict far from the stations. There is a crack in the bottom of the hull, fly through it and destroy the marked shield generator to gain access.

Tips and tricks[]
- Missile Defense System's effects can be terminated early by activating the device again, allowing its cooldown to start sooner than it normally would.
- The Minesweeper mode makes the minesweeper job significantly easier.
- The legendary plating Omni Manus allows this device to also target nearby enemies and rapidly damage them.
