Okkar Prime Protectors are medium fighter-class Okkar Prime enemies in Everspace 2. They are identified on the heads-up display by a stacked-triangle icon. They are first encountered during the "The Emissary" main mission.

Characteristics & Behavior[]

Okkar Prime Protectors are equipped with a Pulse Laser and an Energy Orb weapon. They are ejected by the Protectors and stay in place for a second to track the enemy before thrusting towards them. Energy Orbs can deal a huge amount of area damage.

Between firing the Energy Orbs, the Protectors attack the player ship with Pulse Lasers.

Strategy[]

When their characteristic metallic chirping sound is heard, the player should immediately change their position to get out of the blast area. Generally, when fighting against Okkar Prime Protectors, the player should try to always be moving. Due to their high damage potential, Okkar Prime Protectors should be a high priority target whenever they are encountered.

Trivia[]

  • It has been stated by multiple players that the Energy Orb Weapon from the Okkar Prime Protectors is too overpowered and tends to cause serious problems, especially in high level Ancient Rifts.
  • The Energy Orbs have similarities with the projectiles of the Neutron Cannon from the original Everspace. The blast radius is smaller though.
