Prefixes in Everspace 2 are terms added to the names of generated equipment that have unique effects. Most prefixes can also be added onto an item via catalyst crafting, but each item can only have one prefix at a time. However, some catalysts don't add a prefix, so items that generated with one can be modified with those catalysts without removing the existing prefix.

Almost all prefixes can only generate on or be added to specific types of equipment. Each equipment type overview page on this wiki has its unique prefixes listed if any, but they are all listed below for convenience.

Prefix name Restriction(s) Effect
Intuitive Weapons and Modules (all) Can be used at a lower player Level. Only generates when equipment is dropped from enemies that are a higher level than the player.
Optimized Modules (all) Sets all bonus attribute values to their maximum values.
Marksman Weapons (all) Increases range by 30%.
Powerful Weapons (damage dealing) Increases both kinetic and energy damage by 20%.
Calibrated Primary weapons (projectiles) Reduces projectile spread by 50%.
Efficient Primary weapons (all) Reduces energy consumption by 20%.
High-velocity Primary weapons (projectiles) Increases projectile velocity by 20%.
Rapid Primary weapons (non-continuous) Increases fire rate (and, by extension, energy consumption rate) by 20%.
Swift Primary weapons (charge/ramp-up) Reduces charge or ramp-up duration by 30%.
Sustained Primary weapons (all) Increases energy capacity by 30%.
High-capacity Secondary weapons (all) Increases ammo capacity by 30%.
Tuned Energy cores Increases weapon energy output by 20%.
Accelerated Shields Increases recharge speed by 30% (multiplicative).
Overcharged Shields Increases capacity by 20%.
Primed Shields Reduces recharge delay and shutdown duration by 30%.
Eco Boosters Reduces energy consumption by 30%.
