~ HIVE on gathering resources
Everspace-Codex-NaturalResources

The image for Natural Resources in the codex, showcasing a Crystal deposit.

Resources are gathered during gameplay and are used to craft equipment and trade with Traders and Service Stations. At the end of a run, all resources except Viridian Energy are lost and must be gathered anew in subsequent runs. The resources are organized in three groups according to the UI: unique (yellow), artificial (blue), and natural (red).

Natural Resources
[[File:]]
Natural resources is the generic term given to all naturally-occuring matter typically found locked inside asteroids, moons, and larger celestial bodies. These are highly sought-after commodities, such as heavy metals, gases, crystals, plasma, and dark matter, necessary for the Colonial drive for galactic expansion. Private corporations are chiefly involved in extracting and transporting these resources back into the homeworld markets. Exploration and extraction technology is highly evolved and corporations are continuing to discover more efficient methods.

Using nano-technology, natural resources can be processed, combined, or crafted to fulfill a multitude of uses, including weapon and ship enhancement, engine upgrades, or hull repairs, thus making it essential to the solo pilot traversing the galaxy to have a constant supply.
