Thermo Guns are a primary weapon type in Everspace 2 that rapidly fire homing, long-ranged projectiles dealing high energy damage.

- Damage and energy-related stats of all primary weapons scale exponentially with item level (including bonus levels from rarities and prefixes), with exponential bases of 1.13, 1.16, and 1.14 applying to damage, energy capacity, and energy consumption, respectively.
- All Thermo Gun variants have a chance to generate with one or more of the following type-specific modifiers:
- 20% chance to reflect the shot to enemies closer than 500m
- 10% chance for each hit to deal its damage as area damage in a 200m radius
- Using a Thermo Gun to destroy an enemy that is behind an obstacle awards the "Bend it like Roslin" achievement.
- Thermo gun lore, according to Rockfish Games:
- "The projectiles are generated from thermal fusion technologies - drawn naturally from celestial objects in space, or made artificially - that appear to seek out energy sources. However, the destination of the weapon's output needs to be calibrated to a signature to do so. Due to the nature of this output, the weapon demands a strong energy source of its own with adequate reserves for sustained fire, as well as a locked-on target. The energy isn't so much "projected" from the weapon itself, but rather is "pulled" by a designated energy source. When an energy source is not given to the weapon, the energy armament lacks direction and scatters into the void of space." - RFG_Erik
