Shore leave can be painful. We went into town and found a nice little bar. I didn't think I had that much to drink, but found myself in my bunk this morning with bruises everywhere. Whatever they put into that beer, I am avoiding the stuff from now on.
This is a new one for me. The local military base escorted First Officer Mike Lowe off the ship. Rumor has it he broke into the Captain's room and tried to make off with the navigation equipment. This doesn't make any sense. He was on shore leave last night and was planning of meeting a girl he knew in town. Something strange is going on.
The mess is short on food? I thought we just resupplied, but when I got my turn for breakfast, they were out of mine. Brian 'Pepper' Samuals, our cook, said he was simply out, and I should just deal with it.
Ok, now I know something is going on. This time, dinner time, and the cook take my cornbread out of my hand and won't let me eat it. What the heck is going on? He ate it as I watched, and then told me he was out of cornbread also. I think I need to get off this ship at the next stop. I have never been on a trip like this.
